Axe the Fax Machine, Upgrade to the Cloud

Leeds hospital vowed to, ‘Axe the Fax’ and remove 95% of their remaining 320 fax machines. The campaign follows a report by the Royal College of Surgeons, claiming that there were more than 8,000 fax machines in operation within the National Healthcare Service.

The trusts chief digital and information officer wants to eliminate fax hardware and introduce email as their primary form of communication. To date, Cambridge has overseen the removal of 20 devices and the trust continues to work towards their 2019 target.
