Virtualisation of RightFax

Virtualisation is a revolutionary concept that provides organisations with a powerful, simple, and cost-effective alternative to traditional IT infrastructures. RightFax offers a flexible and seamless integration with the industry leading platforms – VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.

VMware

Download the white paper on the right hand side of this page to learn more about the concept and benefits of a virtualised fax server within a VMware environment including a number of scenarios which will help you achieve a unified and fully supported virtual IP fax environment based on RightFax.

Citrix XenServer

RightFax is compatible with Citrix® XenServer® 6.2 to virtualise your RightFax environment, allowing you to replace physical fax board hardware with SR140 or RightFax Connect, and replace physical servers with virtualised Citrix instances.

Microsoft Hyper-V

RightFax is now supported for installation in the Microsoft Hyper-V virtualisation environment. This enables the full functionality and power of a fax solution leveraging virtualisation and FoIP for a complete solution in virtualisation.

Highlights:

  • Support for Microsoft Hyper-V released with Server 2008
  • Requires the use of Brooktrout SR140 Fax over IP ports, in conjunction with RightFax version 9.4 or above.

Details:

The addition of explicit support for Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtualisation environment expands the options for IT professionals to deploy a fax server in their data centers. Once the creation of the suitable host Virtual Machine, as defined by the Hyper-V package, and the requirements for RightFax, the installation, licensing, configuration and operation of your fax server is identical to the deployment on a physical server.

By adding Dialogic® Brooktrout® SR140 Fax over IP ports, the Virtual Machine deployment of RightFax can be a completely self contained entity, allowing an administrator to easily manage their infrastructure, while fully leveraging their hardware entities.
